File maintenance

Data accuracy is really important to ensure your financial values are correct. The File maintenance option has a number of useful data management and validation features. You can use the options in here to check the validity of your data files so that you can identify and correct errors.

There is also a Corrections option that you can use to correct transactions.

Note: Before you use any of these options you should take a backup of your data.


You can access the File maintenance window from File > Maintenance.

Last Results

This option shows you the results from the last time you ran the Check Data option. Find out more

Check Data

This checks your data files for any corruption or anomalies. It shows you the results as errors, warnings and comments. Find out more

Compress Data

You can use this option to compress your data files. This frees up disk space by removing records you've deleted from the data files.

Corrections

Use this option to make corrections to your transactions. Find out more

Rebuild

You can use this option to completely remove the data from different modules. You should use this with caution. Find out more

Reindex

This option re-sorts your index files, you usually use this if you have corruption in your data. Find out more

Recovery Tools

Use the recovery tools to correct errors in your data. Find out more
